About the app:
The events are presented in chronological order as depicted in Scripture and Sacred Tradition. The content is predominantly sourced from the collective works of Saint Alphonsus de Liguori (excluding Way of the Cross-Through Mary's Eyes). While traditionally associated with Lenten practices, Saints strongly recommend making this devotion a part of daily spiritual life.
This chronological progression spans a full 24 hours and is designed to be accessible to believers worldwide on a 24/7 basis, providing a means of commemorating and accompanying Jesus during His final twenty-four hours on earth. The Passion timeline beckons believers throughout the day at regular intervals to meditate on Christ's suffering, seek His grace and strength. Each meditation synchronizes with the respective passion image based on the user’s local time. Alongside each image are reflections, responses, and suggested prayer intentions. Additionally, users are encouraged to pray for personal intentions and communal unity within the global body of Christ.
The 24-hour schedule serves as the default passion mode. To accommodate user convenience and flexibility, the passion timeline is also available in three alternative modes: 8 hours, 1 hour, and 30 minutes. Users can customize the starting time based on their schedules for these modes. Once a customized cycle is completed, the app reverts back to the default 24-hour mode.
For instance, if a user has 30 minutes available for prayerful reflection on our Lord's Passion, they can select the 30-minute mode and choose a start time accordingly. The entire Passion cycle will then conclude within approximately 30 minutes. The app includes Stations of the Cross, favored Passion prayers, Lenten/Easter Festival reflections, Daily Prayer to Jesus Crucified, and Daily Passion Meditations.
